Lap Blankets..

 I decided to make  a lap blanket using all those funny little ends of wool that just end up in a box.

It's great to put waste wool to good use and it crochets really random which I rather like!

I like the way the colours blend together and as the yarn is used double thickness it makes the blanket really warm and cuddly.

Jaffa loves it.

Baby White Ones

 I wanted to perfect this fascinating circular blanket technique

This heart blanket is crocheted in Sirdar Snuggly Pearls yarn which is all sparkly and lovely

This is crocheted in a soft baby wool in white.

Learning to do new crochet techniques I did an assortment of squares

Virus Blanket..

During this month I spent quite some time visiting a very special place.

This is what I made whilst I was there


It's crocheted following the Virus Shawl Pattern I found on You Tube


I adapted it to make a square 

It's made in Baby Rico Yarn which crochets beautifully

Sherbert Rainbow Star

This yarn reminded me of that  tangy sugary sherbet I used to eat when I was little.

It was perfect for this child sized star blanket

It was crocheted in double knitting variegated acrylic yarn.

A Circle of Hearts ..

Ok...so, I saw a blanket just like this for sale on Etsy

and thought I can have a go at making one of those !!

so I did, and here it is..

6 hearts in the middle, 12 hearts round the edge....perfect

It looks pretty amazing when completed..

The blanket is crocheted with a cream double knitting yarn which is perfectly soft.

Circular Baby Blankie...

This circular baby blanket has been a bit of an experiment but it looks like it's worked out ok...

I think it looks very pretty.

(I used a tutorial from You Tube to get the pattern right)

This double bed size granny blanket has taken me some time to complete


I think it was worth the time and effort it took to get it to this size.


I used the spare yarn from my wool stash without buying anything new to complete it

Itty Bitty Hottie

My daughter bought this Hot Water Bottle Cover for me for a Christmas Present

Here's the finished cover.

It's knitted in thick yarn which is lovely and soft.

The pom poms came ready made !!
